In 1999, a scholarship was set up in the name Al & Selma Tietel. It is awarded each year to one Legion Baseball player in the amount of $500. Applicants are graded for presentation, academic accomplishments, and activities that they are involved in, as well as their commitment to the baseball program. The award is presented each year at the Upper Midwest Classic Tournament.
